I’ve lived here on and off since 2001 when I bought a house I fell in love with. It was set in some woods and my brother-in-law, who is an archaeologist, told me there was an actual hedge tomb on the property. The layers of history and mythological mystery are ever present here and it really is a magic place.
The weather often reminds me of a radio on a road trip when one is trying to tune in something, anything. It simply rarely settles. It can be raining out the front of the house and gloriously sunny out the back. It can be overcast and dismal for a spell and then as quick as snap, the sun is bursting through the clouds and the wind is chasing them away.
Galway loves making rainbows.

Galway is well know for its craic. It attracts the rest of the country on long weekends and has a fantastic Arts Festival in the summer. It’s also known for its horse races. But that’s not my cuppa so I won’t say anymore.
When I started this website, I realised I haven’t taken many photos of around town. I will endeavour to do so but in the meantime, here is a collection of the country side and few events and attractions.
The Volvo Races
Coole Park
Bridget’s Garden, Rosscahill
A great place for Irish Legends and Mythology in a lush environment of woodlands and flowers and art and music.
