I can see it from the pier in Doolin where I’ve spent a good bit of time. But it wasn’t until 2011 that I boarded the ferry and headed out there. The highlights included seeing the wreck of the Plassey, a ship that has been rotting on the beach since 1960, and touring the island with horse and trap.
